VA-11 HALL-A
VA-11 HALL-A (Valhalla) is a very good game, although I had to activate my self discipline to actually finish it.
The game is set in a cyberpunk walled Glitch city where the main heroine Jill is a bartender in a bar. The main gameplay is mixing drinks and talking with customers and boss and then read news and articles about what is happening in the city after work. Also you can buy items at home which helps Jill to concentrate.
I haven’t unlocked too many “hidden” stories even though I tried to serve correct drinks. I’d say the threads of stories could be done better, but it’s still pretty good. The game length is around 10 hours and sometimes feels sluggish. The reason I criticize it a bit is that the cyberpunk story is good, but at the same time I’ve read so many of them, there wasn’t anything mind blowing. The game is feel good and is funny (expect mild jokes), the main heroine is a lesbian and while talking and serving drinks to customers and talking to her boss and colleague and a dog, she also had to deal with her past. Many people liked the 8-bit music, I find it all right, but forgettable. But the pixelart graphics is really awesome and I like colors.
