Running LMMS on MacOS

LMMS (Linux multimedia studio) is a fine program to create music.

Installation:

brew cask install lmms

or download the DMG file and install.

But if you use case sensitive filesystem, you’ll see You can't open the application "LMMS" because it may be damaged or incomplete. And this sucks big time. The solution is to create a volume with case insensitive filesystem through Disk Utility and copy LMMS from Applications into the volume. And now it runs.

Another thing is that while default configuration works nicely, jackd is currently so broken and throws segmentation faults or just freeze.

LMMS interface

btw. Epic Laucher has the same problem with case sensitive filesystem too.
