Howto Fix SecretLab Titan 2020 Spring
There was a day, not long ago, in the dead of night, I chilled on my chair, tried to lower a backrest and a weird noise came from the chair. I knew a spring or something similar broke, because now the backrest was too relaxed and moved very easily to the front even without using a lever.
I checked a couple of shops and found out that Hornbach sells the largest collection of compression and extension springs.
The replacement spring must be of extension type with length of around 50mm and a diameter of 10mm.
So I bought 9x55mm from A2 stainless steel, quite expensive and also 15x55mm from zinced iron which is a bit larger as a backup (springs are cheaper than delivery fee and I still can use it in other projects maybe).
The first (from the top), the black one, is original which broke. The middle is 9x55mm A2 and third one 15x55mm zinc. Originally I wanted to use 9x55mm, but I was too weak to mount it, it's really tough. Not only spring is hard to expand, but also endings are impossible to move to fit into a hole and that other thing. But 15x55mm worked just fine, much easier to use, I was able to place it by hand.
Now it works again, the force is more relaxed when compared to the original, but still holds it correctly.
