Counter Strike: Global Offensive

I used to play it from time to time, sometimes alone, sometimes with a female friend, but at some point I stopped and never tried again including Counter Strike 2.

At first I stopped, because well, I wanted to do also other stuff, work, and then with corona situation I had to spend lot of time to learn about the society, history, manipulation and propaganda to find out who to listen to and who is bullshitting. Still not sure if I’m good at that, but the aim is to avoid being pushed around and controlled to my detriment.

So at first it wasn’t a priority, but later maybe it was my mood, but all games I could find (deathmatch mode) were full of cheaters (man, at least one, usually three) and people not playing for fun. In KDA I used to be average or above average, maybe there are cheaters, maybe these people just become too good, too competitive, maybe machines, just to spawn kill me from the weirdest angles.

I liked to play deathmatch on old de_dust, cs_italy, aztec, office, assault also dust2, also some other game modes. Usually at night I played with pretty chill Russians, Ukrainians, Turkish, Polish, Slovak and Czech people. During the day people were not as chill with too many loud children I had to mute.

But as I wrote, nowadays (start of 2023) people there have soulless vibes. I could find dust1 in the map pool. The other reason is that I’m getting rid of violent games, especially with a toxic community.

Also maybe I’m just too old for this shit and I find other activities more pleasant than being on the receiving end in unfair games. Like in War Games movie (I think) “the best way to win is not to play”.

Also since Russia-Ukraine war started I’m not really in mood to play realistic shooters. From the time spent/value perspective it would be perhaps better to learn how to handle the real thing since Ukraine starts just a few hundred kilometers away.

Yeah, I feel pretty clearly that my times are numbered in this game.
